Priorities

As leaders in Indigenous child and family well-being, ANCFSAO offers technical expertise to our agencies as as they work to build a better life for all Indigenous children, families, and communities.

As the sector evolves, it will be necessary to ensure that agency and community-based workers have the training and research they need to provide culturally and evidence-based holistic child and family care.

ANCFSAO supports the sector through the following initiatives:

Developing and delivering family preservation and prevention training programs for agency and community-based workers.

Supporting family reunification initiatives.

Establishing core competencies for Indigenous child and family well-being prevention and protection workers.

Engaging in evidence-based research to improve outcomes for Indigenous children and families.

Continuing to develop key performance indicators and reporting systems for child and family well-being prevention and protection programs and services.
