Leadership

A Message from Theresa Stevens, Executive Director of ANCFSAO

This is an exciting time for ANCFSAO. Over the past two years, we’ve grown from a one-woman operation to a twelve-person team. We have never been stronger or more equipped to support our member agencies as they work to improve the lives of Indigenous families. This is truly a time of endless possibilities and I look forward to seeing where the future takes ANCFSAO as we continue to grow, learn, and work tirelessly to unify the voices of our member agencies. We believe that we are stronger when we come together. Every day, our mission is to ensure our communities have the tools and resources necessary to realize their vision of child welfare jurisdiction under their own laws and service guidelines. We look forward to many more years of serving our member agencies and the First Nations they serve in turn as they shape the future of Indigenous child welfare.

A Message from Kerry Francis, Board President of ANCFSAO

It is my pleasure to serve as the Board President for ANCFSAO, especially during such an exciting time. As ANCFSAO grows, so do the connections between Ontario’s Indigenous family well-being agencies, as well as our ability to work together towards common goals. ANCFSAO provides an important function that has not always been so present for our agencies: it serves as a shared resource that informs us, and therefore unifies our understanding, goal-setting, and constant efforts to provide better and better services to Indigenous children and families. I have watched it grow over the past few years, and it is a joy to continue to watch as it widens its reach and expands its offerings. Together, we are better able to develop new tools and approaches; together, we are creating a future for the benefit of those we serve.
